Backend JavaScript Engineer
Backend Engineering | JavaScript | TypeScript | Node.js | APIs | Databases | Cloud Services | AI-Assisted Development
About Us
Thynqit Labs is an AI-native digital transformation and product engineering company. We partner with startups, scale-ups, and enterprises to build, modernize, and scale digital products faster - solving complex business challenges through product strategy, software engineering, cloud modernization, and applied AI.
What makes us different is how we build. AI isn't a feature we ship - it's embedded across the entire software development lifecycle, shaping how we think, design, code, ship, and iterate every single day. Combined with our proven engineering accelerators, this is how we help our clients reduce time-to-market, improve product quality, and create scalable platforms built for long-term growth.
We're an ambitious team that moves fast, ships often, and treats AI tooling as a force multiplier on every project we take on.
The Role
We're looking for an early-career Backend JavaScript Engineer (1–2 years of experience) who's already wired to build alongside AI. You'll focus on designing, building, and operating scalable backend services using Node.js, TypeScript, databases, and cloud-native technologies while helping shape how our team uses AI throughout the software development lifecycle.
This isn't a ticket-closing role. You'll contribute to architecture discussions, challenge assumptions, and have genuine ownership over the systems you build.
What You'll Do
Build, ship, and maintain backend services, APIs, and integrations using Node.js and TypeScript.
Design and implement REST and GraphQL APIs that are scalable, secure, and maintainable.
Work with relational and non-relational databases—modeling, querying, and optimizing for performance and reliability.
Design backend services with scalability, observability, and maintainability in mind.
Use AI tools actively across your workflow—coding, testing, debugging, code review, documentation, and system design—and help us evolve how we use them as a team.
Collaborate closely with frontend engineers, product managers, QA engineers, and architects to deliver customer-focused solutions.
Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code—and care about what happens after the deployment is complete.
Must-Haves
1–2 years of hands-on experience building production applications with JavaScript and TypeScript.
Strong experience with Node.js and familiarity with frameworks such as Express.js, NestJS, Fastify, or similar.
Solid understanding of databases—SQL (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and/or NoSQL (MongoDB/Redis)—and when to use each effectively.
Experience designing and integrating REST and/or GraphQL APIs.
Understanding of backend architecture concepts including authentication, authorization, caching, logging, and error handling.
Working knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and how they affect system performance.
Good presentation and communication skills—you will be working with foreign delegates.
Hands-on experience using AI tools in your development workflow—Copilot, Cursor, Claude, or similar—and a curiosity to push their limits.
Product thinking—you care about why you're building something, not just what you're building.
Good-to-Haves
Experience deploying and operating applications on cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and infrastructure automation.
Experience with message queues, event-driven architectures, or asynchronous processing.
Knowledge of observability tools, distributed tracing, monitoring, and production troubleshooting.
Open-source contributions, side projects, or technical writing that demonstrates curiosity and craftsmanship.
Experience working with LLM APIs, vector databases, RAG systems, or AI-powered backend services.
How We Work with AI
Being AI-native isn't a marketing line for us - it's a working norm. Here's what that looks like in practice:
AI in coding: We use AI assistants throughout writing, refactoring, and reviewing code.
AI in planning: We use AI to break down problems, generate options, and pressure-test ideas before we build.
AI in shipping: We use AI to draft tests, write docs, debug, and accelerate review cycles.
AI in product: We build AI-powered features into the product itself, where it genuinely improves the customer experience.
We expect everyone on the team to engage with these tools critically - not blindly trust them, but learn how to get the most out of them.
What We Value
Curiosity - you explore beyond what's asked, and you ask better questions than most.
Continuous Learning - you stay sharp, pick up new tools and patterns quickly, and treat every project as a chance to grow.
Adaptability - you stay steady when priorities shift, and you bring order to ambiguity instead of waiting for it.
Customer Focus - you keep the end user at the center of every technical and product decision.
Performance-Driven - you care about outcomes, not just output. You ship work that performs in the real world.
What We Offer
Access to the best AI tools and infrastructure to do your work.
A small, high-trust team where your contributions are visible, and your ideas matter.
Real ownership over what you build - from architecture to delivery.
Wellness Benefits and Learning Path
Flexible work arrangements.
